Freedom of Information
The Freedom of Information Act 2014 (FOI Act) establishes a number of important legal rights for those seeking access to official information.
Statutory rights under the FOI Act:
- A legal right for each person to access information held by public bodies
- A legal right for each person to have official information relating to him/herself amended where it is incomplete, incorrect or misleading
- A legal right to obtain reasons for decisions affecting oneself
The FOI Act is designed to allow public access to information held by the ERC which is not routinely available through other sources. Access to information under FOI is subject to certain exemptions and involves specific procedures and time limits

Conduct of Conduct for ERC Board and Staff
The Code of Conduct for the ERC Board and Staff sets down the general principles and standards, which govern the professional activities and conduct of the Board members, CEO and staff of the

Equality, Respect and Dignity in the Workplace Policy
The ERC Equality, Respect and Dignity in the Workplace Policy is a statement of commitment identifying actions to be taken to prevent Discrimination and promote Equality in line with the guidelines set out by the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission and to support Section 42 of the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission Act 2014.
ERC seeks to create and sustain a workplace which:

Accessibility & Access Officer
The ERC aims to ensure that the needs of all of its customers, including people with disabilities, are met and that rights to equal treatment are upheld in delivering our services.
The Disability Act 2005 (irishstatutebook.ie) provides a statutory basis for making public services accessible. Sections 25, 26, 27 and 28 of the Act place obligations on public bodies to make their public buildings, services and information accessible to people with disabilities.
Access Officers are appointed in accordance with section 26(2) of the Disability Act 2005. Access Officers are responsible for providing or arranging for, and coordinating assistance
and guidance, to persons with disabilities accessing services provided and generally to act as a point of contact for people with disabilities wishing to access such services.
