ERC launches results for PISA 2022

The ERC is pleased to release the national results for PISA 2022, with information on the achievements of 15-year olds in Ireland. The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) is an initiative of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The study assesses the knowledge and skills of students in three cognitive domains (mathematics, reading and science), and gathers information on teaching, learning and well-being through background questionnaires.

PISA began in 2000 and generally takes place every three years. Ireland has participated in PISA since the beginning. PISA 2022 assessments were administered in 81 countries, comprising 37 OECD countries and 44 partner countries (26 EU countries participated). Over 690,000 15-and 16 year-olds students were randomly selected to participate in the 81 countries.

The national report for Ireland can be downloaded here.
