Currently, Ireland participates in the IEA’s Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS) (Fourth Class), the OECD’s Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) (15-year-olds), and the IEA’s Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) (Fourth Class and Second Year). The ERC is Ireland’s project manager and governing board representative on each of these studies.
The ERC also sits on the governing board for the OECD’s Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) whose implementation is overseen by the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
