Ability and Aptitude Tests

The Centre offers three ability tests for use in primary or post-primary schools.

The DRT is an Irish-developed test, while the DAT and the OLMAT are US-developed, but also standardised on an Irish sample.  Users should be aware that the norms for the DAT and OLMAT are quite dated.  The Centre is currently examining ways in which our range of ability and aptitude tests can be updated and made more relevant to the needs of Irish schools.

Use of the DRT and DAT is restricted to qualified persons with training in the administration and interpretation of psychological tests (e.g., guidance counsellors, psychologists).
