National Assessments Frameworks

Assessment frameworks are intended to address three key questions:

  • What is being assessed
  • How it is being assessed
  • Why it is being assessed

Separate frameworks were developed for both the reading and mathematics components of National Assessments 2009.  The frameworks built on those used in the 2004 National Assessments, ensuring that the 2009 assessments reflected not only previous assessments, but also curriculum changes and recent research findings. The same frameworks as those used for 2009 National Assessments were used for the 2014 National Assessments‎.
