Emer is a Research Associate at the ERC. Most recently, she has managed the development and standardisation of the New Drumcondra Primary Reading Tests. A member of staff since 2013, Emer is the National Research Coordinator for PIRLS 2021, having previously worked on PIRLS 2016. Her current research interests also include teachers’ approaches to identity-based bullying, and children’s discursive constructions of gender. Her degree (Psychology and Italian), Masters, and Ph.D. are from Trinity College Dublin.
